It is difficult
to believe that in a Muslim person is
worshiped in the temple with a stone symbolized by his name, who is still
alive. But this is true.
For this investigation, I, Lalbabu Singh and Rakesh
Bihari Sharma went to the Chandi-Mau village of Nalanda, in this village A stone is worshiped in the name of Suri Baba
along with many other idols at the door of the village temple.
This Suri Baba is Tufail Khan Suri. Who ever dreamed of building the country's first rural museum in this village.
I met Tufail Khan Suri in 2015, despite having no formal education in history, he has a very good knowledge of Bihar Sharif history and nearby historical sites.
Perhaps one reason for attachment to history is that he is a descendant of Sher Shah Suri.
About 20 years ago , he had a dream to build India's first rural museum in Chandi-Mau village.
To fulfil this dream, he had lost his entire property and spend accumulated wealth. For this he make a building here.
Sometime he carry cement bag from nalanda on his bicycle (12k.m from this village) for construction . The plan was to keep all the ancient idols of this village and nearby in this proposed rural museum.
He had the list of houses where the antiquates ( idols) lie in, almost everyone was ready to give the idols for the museum.
But the land mafia, eyeing on the government land of the village, conspired and expelled Suri Saheb from the village.
The museum could not be built, but some idols kept in that building have taken the form of a temple.
villagers oblige by suri sahab who built a 'temple' and left the villege , he came back with after almost 20 years with me on my request.
At the doorstep of the temple, people also worship a stone as Suri Baba. Along with many other idols.
